Notes from the owner's manuals
- 225/60R17 99H: Same figures in the 2020 (U3) and 2022 (U19) manuals. The manual also prints kgf/cm2 (not bar); bar left null rather than converted.
- 225/60R17 99H: Pressures left null: the 2023 (U4) and 2024 (U20) manuals contradict themselves. Their Specifications table prints front 36 psi (250 kPa) / rear 35 psi (240 kPa) for this size, but the same manuals' TPMS cold-inflation example for 'Tire size: 225/60R17 99H' (2024: '225/60R17') gives front 33 psi (230 kPa) / rear 32 psi (220 kPa), the figures the 2020 and 2022 editions print in both places. Check the door-pillar tire placard.
- 225/60R17 99T: Wilderness (from MY2022); same figures in the 2022 (U19), 2023 and 2024 manuals. The manual also prints kgf/cm2 (not bar); bar left null rather than converted.
- 225/55R18 98H: Same figures in the 2020, 2022, 2023 and 2024 manuals. The manual also prints kgf/cm2 (not bar); bar left null rather than converted.

Figures marked "Owner's manual" link to the maker's own document. "Reported" figures are the maker's, read from a copy we could not get from the maker directly. A figure marked ≈ has been converted from the unit the manual prints. Nothing here has been checked against your vehicle: if it disagrees with the placard on the door jamb, the placard wins.

Tire pressure questions
What should the tire pressure be on a Subaru Forester?
It depends on the tire size. For the sizes Subaru lists, the cold pressure is 30–35 psi at the front and 29–33 psi at the rear. Find your size in the tables above, and check the tires cold.
What size tires does a Subaru Forester take?
Subaru fitted the Forester with 225/60 R17, 235/60 R17, 225/55 R18 and 235/50 R19, depending on the model year and trim. The size is printed on the side of your tire; the pressures above are listed by size.
Where is the tire pressure placard on a Subaru Forester?
On the driver's door jamb — the Tire and Loading Information placard. It gives the same cold pressures as the owner's manual, which is where the figures on this page come from; if the two ever disagree, go by the placard on your vehicle.
