Build sheet by VIN · factory options, paint and trim
Build sheet by VIN — every option the vehicle was built with
The build sheet is the maker's record of how one vehicle was built: every option code, the paint and the trim. Stellantis gives Jeep, Ram, Dodge and Chrysler owners an equipment listing free, and we link to it. For Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Genesis, GMC, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Polestar, Volkswagen and Volvo, get the factory build sheet for $7.99, only charged if it exists.

How do I get a build sheet by VIN?
Free first: Jeep, Ram, Dodge and Chrysler
Stellantis serves the equipment listing for its vehicles as a PDF by VIN: every standard and optional item and the paint, without option codes or prices. It answered every one of the 15 Jeep, Ram, Dodge and Chrysler VINs we tried, model years 2014 to 2022. Enter the VIN and we build the link to the maker's file.
We aren't affiliated with any manufacturer. The link opens the maker's own document; we never see, store or change it.
What's on the factory build sheet
Every option with its code and description, the paint (with its code where the maker records one), the upholstery, the engine and the transmission as built. Usually well over 50 entries, often more than a hundred. No prices.

- s05dn
- Parking Assistant Plus
- s0402
- Panorama glass roof
- s0453
- Active seat ventilation, front

- s0322
- Comfort access system
It answers the questions a listing can't: whether the car really has the package in the ad, the exact paint for a touch-up, the trim for a replacement part. If the paint is all you need, the paint code by VIN page also shows where the code is printed on the vehicle.
Build sheet, window sticker or VIN decoder?
- VIN decoder: reads the make, model year, engine family and plant from the VIN. Free, but no options.
- Window sticker: the label from when the vehicle was new, with prices and EPA figures. Free from some makers for recent years: window sticker by VIN.
- Build sheet: the maker's production record. Every option code, no prices.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I get a build sheet by VIN for free?
For a Jeep, Ram, Dodge or Chrysler, yes: Stellantis serves the equipment listing free, and we link to it. For Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Genesis, GMC, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Polestar, Volkswagen and Volvo, the factory build sheet is $7.99, and only charged if it exists.
What's the difference between a build sheet and a window sticker?
The window sticker is the label printed for the dealer when the vehicle was new: equipment with prices, the MSRP and the EPA figures. The build sheet is the maker's production record for the same VIN: every option code, the paint and the trim, but no prices.
Can a VIN decoder show the options?
No. A VIN encodes the make, model, model year, engine family and plant, not the options. The options are in the maker's production records, which is what a build sheet reads.
Which makes does the build sheet cover?
In the United States: Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Genesis, GMC, Hyundai, Jaguar, Jeep, Kia, Land Rover, Mercedes-Benz, Polestar, Ram, Volkswagen and Volvo. We tested each on real US vehicles before offering it. Porsche, Ford, Toyota, Honda and Nissan aren't offered, because the maker returned nothing, or too little, for US vehicles.
How much does it cost?
$7.99 per vehicle, with no account. The amount is only authorized on your card and taken once the build sheet arrives. If the maker holds nothing, the authorization is released and you pay nothing.
Does it cover classic cars?
No. Build sheets for classics were paper documents, often left inside the car during assembly, and makers' digital records don't reach back that far. Our tests covered model years 2014 to 2023.
Is it a service history?
No. The build sheet shows how a vehicle was built. What has been done to it since is the dealer service history check ($14.99).
