$7.99 for the full factory build sheet: paint, trim, transmission and every factory option. No account needed, and you only pay if we hold one for your vehicle.

The VIN is at the base of the windshield on the driver's side, on the door-jamb sticker, and on the title, registration and insurance card.

How do I find out what options my Chevy has?

With its VIN. The Chevy build sheet lists every option code the vehicle was built with, plus the paint and trim. A free VIN decoder only reads the make, model year and plant from the number: the options aren't in the VIN, they're in Chevrolet's production records.

GM's codes, and the free sticker for newer vehicles

GM calls its option codes RPO codes (Regular Production Options). The same codes are on the Service Parts Identification label in the glovebox, which on older vehicles has often faded or gone. GM has reused some codes over the years, so a description can come from an older use of a code; your report says so, and the GM RPO codes page explains it.

For a 2022 or newer Chevrolet (and some 2021s), GM serves the original window sticker free, with prices. Try it first:

Where to find the VIN

  • Through the windshield, at the bottom corner on the driver's side.
  • On the sticker inside the driver's door jamb.
  • On the title, the registration card and the insurance ID card.

A VIN always has 17 characters and never contains the letters I, O or Q.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much is a Chevy build sheet?

$7.99 per vehicle, with no account. The amount is only authorized on your card and taken once the build sheet arrives. If the maker holds nothing for that VIN, the authorization is released and you pay nothing.

Will it show the Chevy paint code?

GM records the paint as an RPO code, so it appears with the rest of the codes, and the build sheet names the factory color.

Does it show the original price?

No. The build sheet is the production record, with no prices. The original window sticker has them.

Does it work for every Chevy?

We tested it on real US Chevrolet vehicles before offering it: 4 of 5, model years 2017 to 2021, came back with 98 to 159 entries, and a 2023 model came back empty. Where the maker holds nothing, you're told so and nothing is charged.

How quickly will I get it?

Usually within a few minutes, by email, and you can view it online and save it as a PDF.
