Mercedes-Benz window sticker · factory build sheet by VIN

Mercedes-Benz window sticker by VIN — the factory build sheet

For a Mercedes-Benz, the factory build sheet is the record to get by VIN: Mercedes-Benz doesn't offer its original window stickers online. The build sheet gives you what the sticker's equipment list did: every option code, the paint and the interior trim that exact Mercedes-Benz was built with. Identifying the car is free; the build sheet is $7.99 and only charged if it exists.

$7.99 for the full factory build sheet: paint, trim, transmission and every factory option. No account needed, and you only pay if we hold one for your vehicle.

The VIN is at the base of the windshield on the driver's side, on the door-jamb sticker, and on the title, registration and insurance card.

How do I find out what options my Mercedes-Benz has?

With its VIN. The Mercedes-Benz factory build sheet lists every option code the car was built with, plus the paint and trim. The VIN is at the base of the windshield, on the driver's door jamb sticker and on the registration card. A free VIN decoder only reads the make, plant and year from the number: the options aren't in the VIN, they're in the maker's production records.

Need the MSRP? A recreated Mercedes-Benz window sticker

The build sheet has no prices. A recreated window sticker rebuilds the MSRP and the factory options for one Mercedes-Benz from factory build data. It's a recreation, not the sticker the car was sold with.

  • The MSRP: the base price, each factory option or package with its price, and the destination charge.
  • The standard equipment, and the fuel economy and safety ratings where the factory record holds them.

It's $9.99, and only charged when a full sticker is produced. Your card is authorized, not charged, until it arrives; if only part of the factory record is on file you get what was found for free, and if there's none you pay nothing. US-market vehicles only.

A recreation built from factory build data. It is not an original manufacturer document. FindServiceHistory is not affiliated with any manufacturer or with MarketCheck, which produces the sticker for us.

What's on the factory build sheet

The build sheet is the manufacturer's own record of how one vehicle left the production line. It's tied to the VIN, so it describes that exact Mercedes-Benz rather than the model in general.

  • Paint: the factory color name and, on most recent vehicles, the paint code.
  • Interior: upholstery and color.
  • Drivetrain: the transmission and drive type.
  • Every option code with its description, from driver assistance to heated seats, usually well over a hundred entries.

It carries no prices and doesn't mark which items were paid extras. For "does this car really have the package in the ad?" it's exactly what you need; for what the car cost new, you need the original window sticker.

Why none of this is in the VIN itself is explained on the Mercedes-Benz VIN decoder page.

Where to find the VIN

  • Through the windshield, at the bottom corner on the driver's side.
  • On the sticker inside the driver's door jamb.
  • On the title, the registration card and the insurance ID card.

A VIN always has 17 characters and never contains the letters I, O or Q.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I get the original Mercedes-Benz window sticker by VIN?

Mercedes-Benz doesn't offer its original window stickers online for owners to download, so nobody can give you one by VIN. A Mercedes-Benz dealer can sometimes print the equipment list for a VIN if you ask. What we sell is the factory build sheet: the same equipment, decoded from the VIN, without the prices.

What's the difference between a window sticker and a build sheet?

The window sticker is the label printed for the dealer when the car was new: equipment with prices, the MSRP and the EPA figures. The build sheet is the manufacturer's production record for the same VIN: every option code, the paint and the trim, but no prices. For checking a car's equipment, the build sheet is the more detailed of the two.

How much does the build sheet cost?

$7.99 per vehicle, with no account. When you order, the amount is only authorized on your card and taken once the build sheet arrives. If the maker holds nothing, the authorization is released and you pay nothing.

Will it show the Mercedes-Benz paint code?

On most vehicles from the last several years, yes. Every build sheet names the factory color; on older vehicles the maker often stored only the color name. We show exactly what was recorded and never fill in a code.

How quickly will I get it?

Usually within a few minutes, by email, and you can view it online and save it as a PDF.

Can I get the original MSRP for my Mercedes-Benz?

Yes, on a recreated window sticker: the MSRP, each factory option with its price and the destination charge, rebuilt from factory build data for that VIN. It's $9.99, charged only when a full sticker is produced, and it's a recreation, not the original document.
