Lost Records
Lost the service records? The dealer still has them
Receipts get thrown out and the previous owner's folder never makes it to you. The manufacturer's dealer network keeps the original record against the VIN, and that record survives all of it.
Find Your Car's Service History Online
Look up a car's dealer service records using the manufacturer's own dealership system. Enter the VIN to see every franchised dealer service on file — dates, mileage, and the work performed.
Full dealer records for BMW and MINI — warranty and recall records for Porsche, and workshop remarks for Jeep. Your card is authorized but not charged unless we find records.
What can I do if the service records are lost?
Why the record survives the paperwork
Each time a franchised dealership services the car, it enters the visit in the manufacturer's central system before it prints the invoice. The invoice is the receipt; the system is the ledger. Lose the receipts and the ledger is untouched. For the makes we cover, the report reproduces it: dates, mileage and the work done.
Selling a car without its records
Buyers expect to see maintenance records and discount hard when there are none. A printed dealer report fills the gap with something better than a folder of receipts: a record the seller could not have written themselves. Run it once, attach it to the listing, and the question goes away.
When the record is thin
A car serviced outside the dealer network has no central record to retrieve, and a make we do not cover returns nothing. In both cases you are not charged. An independent shop can usually reprint invoices from its own system, which is the next place to look.
We hold full dealership service records for BMW and Mini; warranty and recall records for Porsche; and workshop remarks for Jeep. Other makes are not covered yet, and the check tells you so before you pay.

Supported Brands
Manufacturer Records
We access service records directly from the manufacturers' dealership systems. In the United States that currently means BMW and MINI in full, with warranty and recall records for Porsche and workshop remarks for Jeep — if a make isn't listed, we don't hold its records here yet.
Full Service History
(2)Complete service records from manufacturer dealership systems, including service dates, mileage, work performed, and service provider details. Suitable for consumer reports and remarketing.
Workshop Remarks
(1)Workshop remarks including recalls and warranty work. Where workshop remarks align with service schedules, this strongly indicates a service was carried out.
Limited Coverage
(1)Data is returned in a minimal proportion of cases. Results depend on individual vehicle records and manufacturer system availability.
FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a dealership print the service history?
Some will print a service summary from their system if you are the owner and ask in person, usually for the visits they performed themselves. Our report draws on the manufacturer's whole network for that make, so it includes visits at other dealerships too.
Does the report replace the records for warranty purposes?
The manufacturer's own system is what a dealer checks when assessing a warranty claim, so the record the report shows is the one that matters. The report itself is evidence for a buyer or seller; the warranty decision rests with the dealer and the manufacturer.
Is this a vehicle history report?
No. A vehicle history report covers title, liens, accidents and odometer branding from state and insurance records. We return something those reports leave out: the manufacturer's own dealership service records — each service visit the dealer network logged against the VIN, with the date, mileage and work performed. Use both; they answer different questions.
Which makes are covered in the United States?
We hold full dealership service records for BMW and Mini; warranty and recall records for Porsche; and workshop remarks for Jeep. Other makes are not covered yet, and the check tells you so before you pay.
What does a report cost?
$14.99. Your card is authorized at checkout but only charged if we actually find records for the vehicle. If nothing is on file, the authorization is released and you pay nothing.
Where do I find the VIN?
The VIN is a 17-character code. It is on the plate at the base of the windshield on the driver's side, on the sticker inside the driver's door jamb, on the vehicle's title and registration card, and on the insurance ID card.
Does the state the car is registered in matter?
No. Manufacturer service records are stored against the VIN in the manufacturer's national dealer system, not against a state registration, so a car serviced in Texas and now registered in Florida keeps its history.
